2 BUTYL ADHESIVE STRIPS

Wakaflex is usually around 20% cheaper than lead flashing based on a per lineal metre rate.
Wakaflex rolls are 5m long, while lead flashing is usually supplied in 3m rolls. As a guide, Wakaflex is around $150 for a 280mm x 5m roll, while lead is around $155 for a 300mm x 3m roll.
Yes. The easiest method is to lift the existing lead flashing and install Wakaflex directly underneath it in full 5m lengths. The existing lead can then be dressed back down over the Wakaflex as an over-flashing.
You can also trim the existing lead back if you prefer a smaller over-flashing. If you fully remove the lead, the Wakaflex will need to be chased back into the brickwork or installed underneath the fascia.
If a sealant is needed, Sikaflex Pro is recommended. Roofer’s silicone and glue are not recommended. Sikaflex Pro should not be used between the roofing material and the Wakaflex itself, as this can affect the adhesive performance of the butyl strip.
